We are delighted to announce that Beyond Youth has secured funding and support from NOMS (Social Enterprise) and the City Bridge Trust to commence delivery of the first franchise of our Chance 2 Change programme.
This is a significant development for our organisation and the C2C programme as it represents the first time individuals other than Beyond Youth members of staff will be delivering our award-winning group-based therapeutic interventions.
This pilot franchise points the way to a future delivery model that will allow us to reach thousands of young offenders on a national scale.
The pilot will be delivered at HMP & YOI Portland and we are delighted to have benefited from their continued support and commitment to delivering innovative interventions.
We have successfully recruited two current prison members of staff to deliver the work and will begin training them on the delivery using our dedicated franchise manual. We anticipate launching delivery in March 2012.
We will work closely with Portland and NOMS Social Enterprise team to evaluate our social impact and begin evidencing the potential savings to the public purse by tackling offending behaviour at its root cause.
Huge thanks go to UnLtd, Hogan Lovells, NOMS, HMYOI Portland, the dedicated Beyond Youth team and of course the past, present and future participants who make us what we are.
This is just the start of our plans for growth and there is an exciting journey ahead of us.
